ACC 315 Module Five Bongo Reflection Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Data is factual, measurable information that is collected on documents like tax schedules, payroll schedules or sales figures. In this assignment you will learn the types of data and how it is organized, stored, characterized, and used to make business decisions.
Scenario
You have been asked to train a new hire on ways that data storage and analysis are used in accounting by creating a brief video on the topic.
Directions
Familiarize yourself with the topic by reading Chapter 5 in the textbook. Take notes to prepare an outline of the topics you need to cover in your presentation. Use Bongo to create this presentation. Bongo instructions are provided in the supporting materials section.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
1. Types of Data: Explain the different types of data. Consider this question to guide your response: How do data types differ?
2. Forms of Storage: Identify forms of data storage. Consider the following to guide your response: Identify 2–3 forms of data storage.
3. Data Organization: Explain how data is organized in an AIS.
4. Big Data: Explain two or more characteristics of big data. Consider the following question to guide your response: What are the characteristics of big data?
5. Analytics: Explain how data analytics are used to solve accounting problems. Consider the following question to guide your response: How are data analytics used to solve accounting problems?
Bongo Auto Analysis is a tool that rates your video content for clarity, use of filler words, and speaking rate. Using this feature is optional for this assignment. You may, however, want to use it to get immediate feedback on your work, which you can then revise and submit.
What to Submit
Prepare an outline addressing the rubric criteria, and then create a video that records your thoughts using Bongo. Bongo is a screen capture and video editing tool. You may record yourself or use narration over a slide deck that you create. Submit your outline as a MS Word document. At the top, include the link to your Bongo presentation.
