My submission for topic:
Hello Professor Rakovalis,
For my research paper assignment topic,
I would like to use infrastructure constraints of health care and its affects. I
would dive into the lessons learned from the ongoing pandemic and how the lack
of equipment, space available, manpower, and etc. has affected the funding and
thoughts of healthcare in the future.
Response:
Hi, Daniel. I think this is a great subject! I recommend
you apply some economic models to the discussions about the pandemic, such as implications
to firms’ profitability, labor, costs, etc. economic modeling, even if it
involves basic supply and demand. Discussions on market pricing power of
pharmaceuticals as well, because it’s the lack of competition and market
pricing power that adds to the costs and potential underground of
pharmaceuticals, which is part of health care. What gives impetus to fraud? Too
strict of rules from government, or lack of? Great job, and I look forward to
the project!
