Population (P), Intervention (I), Comparison (C), Outcome (O), and Time (T), also known as the PICOT format, is a tool known to aid in helping a researcher explore an intervention that can positively impact an individual or society (Riva et al., 2012). It is said that this format can aid in investigations like randomized controlled trials, which are essential in research (Riva et al., 2012). There are various types of PICOT styles. There are several uses of PICOT questions because every research can be different. Some researches are quantitative, and some are qualitative. Having various PIVOT questions can help build a better foundation for a particular investigation. For example, in terms of diagnostics tests, it helps assist investigators in finding out the precision, how to establish and ban a diagnosis, cost, safety, and acceptability of such intervention (Duke University, n.d.).  Prognosis helps identify how a PICOT research can look like as time goes by in terms of the clinical subject course  (Duke University, n.d.).  Intervention use of PICOT guides scientists on how a particular intervention can help compared to another intervention. These are just a few examples of how PICOT can be such a useful tool.
