Students will choose an area of concentration (e.g., instruction, behavior management, family- professional relationships, inclusion) and identify a research questions to be answered by a literature review doing a search of the issues and trends on the last 20 years of ECSE journals (starting from 1999 to 2019). These journals include Topics in Early Childhood Special Education, Journal of Early Intervention, Young Exceptional Children, Teaching Exceptional Children, Exceptional Children, and Infants and Young Children. Students will write a summary literature review of the findings in research and reflect on the gaps found between research and practice regarding the issue chosen. Papers should reflect the findings of the literature. Sections of the literature review paper should include:
o Introduction of your topic.
o Identification of the research question you have about your topic that will be answered using your literature review.

o Discussion: analysis of literature and answering your research question.
