05 course project – final deliverable: ethics training presentation

Throughout your research on the Committee for Dynamic  Success you and your fellow colleagues identified that one of the most  important ways to establish an ethical workplace is through training  during the onboarding process and on a continuous cycle. With this in  mind, the President, has asked your committee to create a basic  presentation entitled, Ethics 101.

Your presentation should cover the following topics:

  1. Introduction: Why do you need Ethics training?
  2. Identify 5 current ethical issues: You will want to include the following information:
    • Define the issue, include information on how it takes place, who are the usual perpetrators, where does it typically take place?
    • How does the issue impact the business, the employees, the stakeholders, etc.?
    • What recommendations would you make to resolve the unethical conduct?
  3. Define conflict and the causes of it in the workplace.
    • How does unresolved/unaddressed conflict lead to unethical actions?
    • Provide a basic roadmap/plan that any employee could follow  if they encounter a conflict with an employee from within their  department.
  4. 10 Rules for Ethical Conduct for Luxor Employees
  5. Conclusion: What should you do if you see unethical conduct?

Your presentation should be a minimum of 12 slides, including a  Title slide as well as a References slide containing APA citations for  the information that you used throughout the presentation. You will need  to include research in the body of the presentation by using in text  citations.

Feel free to be as creative as you want. Use photos,  charts, or even embed videos, just make sure that you are clearly  conveying your message on your slides, and that you cite your sources  (including multimedia) according to APA style.

You will need to  include accompanying “reader/presenter” notes in the notes section below  each slide. These are the key notes that describe, explain and teach  what the slide is trying to convey. Please note that a PowerPoint is not  generally wordy and paragraphs should not be included on a slide. The  slide itself is used as a visual for the audience and the notes section,  which would be read by the presenter, is where the substance comes in.

General PowerPoint Tips:

  • Fonts
    • Avoid fonts that are difficult to read.
    • Use no font size smaller than 24 point.
    • Use different colors, sizes and styles (bold, underline) for impact.

    • For  bullet points, use the 6 x 6 Rule. One thought per line with no more  than 6 words per line and no more than 6 lines per slide.
    • Use dark text on light background or light text on dark background.
    • To test the font, stand back six feet from the monitor and see if you can read the slide.

    • Keep the background consistent and subtle.
    • Use only enough text when using charts or graphs to explain clearly label the graphic.
