The topic of my thesis is a discursive analysis of PETA’s (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) construction of the concept Speciesism on their website. The document attached to this offer outlines the basic ideas for the thesis thus far, as well its method and theoretical framework. Just to sum up, the theoretical framework moves within the concept of power relations as well as power and knowledge according to Foucault. The method is informed by Discourse Analysis. the main authors for the method section will be Maarten Hajer and Stuart Hall.
