Objectives:
- Discuss the mechanism of action, indications for use, and major adverse effects of selected drugs that affect central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS).
- Discuss interactions of alternative and complementary therapies with medications that affect the CNS and PNS.
- Identify client-related factors that influence the effects of drugs that affect the CNS, and PNS.
- Use the nursing process to determine safe care for a client who is receiving medications that affect the CNS and PNS.
