Assignment task
You are required to develop a 1500- word nursing care plan (excluding the reference list) based on the scenario provided.
The Care plan MUST cover the following aspects:
- Analysing the scenario to identify the patient’s needs and problems.
- Evaluating the clinical data using appropriate assessment tools (e.g., NEWS2, MUST, BMI).
- Implement relevant nursing tasks and interventions.
- Applying the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation) for each identified problem or need, to formulate a patient-centred care plan.
- Integrating the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to ensure holistic care.
- Link the care plan and scenario to the nursing standards and apprenticeship standards. Using the NMC code of conduct and the apprenticeship standards.
Your care plan MUST:
- Be submitted using the template provided in your Assignment folder on Blackboard. You must not write an essay. All words must be written within the template.
- Be written in an academic style, using professional nursing terminology. Avoid using bullet points.
- Written in third person.
- Include evidence-based rationales.
- Use Harvard-style referencing, including in-text citations and a full reference list.
- Demonstrate understanding of safe, effective, and person-centred care in line with the NMC Code (2018).

Assignment formatting:
The assessed coursework element for the module is a 1,500 word (+ or – 10%) referenced essay.
Your Work should be written in an academic style of writing and use full sentences with paragraphs.
Your submitted work must include:
- page numbers
- be presented in size 12, Arial font
- Be left- hand-aligned
- Have an additional line space between paragraphs
You must include the title page provided on Blackboard with the following information:
- Module code and Module name.
- The actual number of words used (excluding reference list/ title page/ appendix)
- The submission date.
- Your seminar leader’s name & the module leader’s name

- You should use at least 12 sources/references to inform this piece of work. These should be a variety of academic sources e.g., articles from peer-reviewed journals, textbooks, professional guidance, and policy documents.

Submission details
The assignment must be submitted Before 14:00 on the 15th of December 2025, via Turnitin.
- This assignment should be submitted electronically. Please use the relevant Turnitin submission point in the ‘Submit your work’ area in your Blackboard module shell.
- Please ensure that your work has been saved in an appropriate file format. Turnitin will only accept the following file types: Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint, PostScript, PDF, HTML, RTF, OpenOffice (ODT), Hangul (HWP), Google Docs, or plain text. Your file must also contain at least 20 words of text, consist of fewer than 400 pages and be less than 40MB in size. Word is the most appropriate format for this work.
- You can submit your work as many times as you like before the submission date. If you do submit your work more than once, your earlier submission will be replaced by the most recent version.
