 Construct a written Project Proposal relating to the implementation and evaluation of an innovative change activity (or activities) in your nursing practice that you have identified as being necessary. In the Project Proposal you will demonstrate your understanding of leadership theory, the application of change management strategies and innovative approaches.
For the Summative assignment:
You have been asked by your line manager/clinical leader to lead on the introduction of a new practice into your clinical area. The change has been successfully piloted in a number of other clinical settings, both within and external to, your organisation.

Change Agent Summative Assignment
You are to be the designated ‘change agent’ – and will be working full-time on the project. You will lead a small team of two nursing colleagues, who are junior to you, and will each have 25% of their time allocated to the project. You have a small budget to allow for printing and other incidental costs. The time-frame allocated to introduction of the change is eight to ten weeks.
Discuss the role of leadership when enacting change,
Two theories of leadership are discussed, including traits and behaviours of effective leaders.
Explore how leadership works in your own organisation, and discuss the concept that clinical leadership behaviours can be demonstrated at all levels of nursing
The importance of the nurse as a leader in delivering a change innovation is explored.
