we discuss the critical analysis essay in detail, so this is worth 30 marks. It’s an essay of the word limit of 1200 words. I’m just really out of this task description. So the purpose of this essay is to demonstrate critical thinking, analysis, research, referencing and writing skills. For this task you need to write a 1200 word essay in which you critically analyze the document provided. That’s this one down here. Using elements of the WPR approach, and that is a link there to read more about the WPR approach. You will demonstrate an understanding of social services, fields of practice, and an emerging understanding of factors influencing social issues and the approaches to addressing them. You will write clearly and succinctly referencing sources as appropriate. So the document that you’re going to be looking at as stated is this one. It’s called working together. Changing the story, you just a strategy 2019 to 2023 and the approach you’re going to be taking for the analysis is the WPR approach. What’s the problem represented to be and you can read about that in here, which is called engaging with Carol Bacci strategic interventions and exchanges. Let’s take a look at the marking criteria and I’ll help you breakdown how you might structure this essay. So let’s look at this last one. This is about conveying your writing with clarity by using correct API 7 formatting and referencing as well as correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and structure. It’s worth 8 marks. It’s 8 out of 30 Mark, so there’s still a big weighting towards writing. Clearly this is something that we really want you to be able to learn how to do in this course, because it’s going to serve you really well both in terms of your academic career and how you do, and you throughout the next two 3-4 years of studying. As well as when you’re working out in the field, being able to communicate clearly and succinctly is very important. Now, because that’s eight marks associated with that, we don’t count that in our word count. So let’s do the breakdown of how many words you should be applying to each of these criteria. It’s a 1200 word essay, Let’s say about 60 words for your introduction and conclusion, 30 words each. That leaves us with 1140 words. When we add up the marks associated with criteria where there’s content that comes to 22, so 1140. Divided by 22 is roughly 50, so that’s 50 words per mark. That means for this first one, where there’s two marks, that’s 100 words. The next one is for Mark, so that’s 200 words, 200 words, the 8 marks one will be 400 words for marks, 200 words. This will help you structure your essay again doesn’t have to be specifically those that word length for each of those sections, but it can help guide you in terms of writing the appropriate length against each criteria. Let’s look at the first marking criteria, then explain what the authors state. The social issue is. So we’re talking about the document and you need to read through that document to be able to understand what the social issue is. I want the USA accurately stated the social issue with evidence from the author’s statements. So you need to be referencing that document to say see. This is why I know that the social issue is what it is. The next criteria describe what the problem is represented to be through the proposed approach to addressing the social issue. So you should have a good understanding of the WPR approach to be able to do this. And I want to say that you’ve thoroughly described the problem representation with clearly explained links to the proposed approach. The next one discussed the probable presuppositions or assumptions that underlie the representation of the problem, so this is probable presuppositions or assumptions. Because you can’t know for certain, but they’re going to be certain things that we could exclude and say, well, that’s really unlikely. So we want you to be looking for what it is that these authors might have presuppose or assumed that underlies their representation of the problem. I want to see that you’ve thoroughly discussed those probable presuppositions or assumptions with clearly explained links to the authors statements. So again, you’re going to be referencing back to that document. Next one, identify and explain two factors. Historical, political, economic, institutional or cultural that shaped the existence of this problem representation in Australia. Now this is going to require a bit of research. You’re going to have to know what the social issue is. You’re gonna have to look back and identified. What is it that has resulted in this representation of the problem in Australia? I want to see two distinct factors identified with clear explanation and links made to high quality evidence of how each factor shape the existence of the problem representation. This is a really challenging section. That’s why it’s worth 8 marks. The next one. Describe and explain the presence of an inherent tension in the approach to addressing the social issue. You’re gonna have to be thinking through what the difference inherent tensions are that we’ve been discussing and be able to figure out. What do you see there? I want to see that you’ve thoroughly described an inherent tension in the context of addressing the social issue. And provide clearly explained reasoning. And the final criteria, they said, is about appropriate writing and referencing. There is no resubmit provided for this assessment, so you need to give it a good go on your first guy. There is the text matching submission point. Again, I shouldn’t see a great deal of content taken from elsewhere. Everything should be appropriately referenced. I don’t like to see a whole lot of quotes either. I’d like you to see you condense it and turn it into your own words. Rather than quoting. Anymore than a sentence from another source. Here again is your electronic assignment cover sheet point, so please do that. Fill it out correctly and then you’ll see the final submission point for your assessment where you can upload it down here.   Task description and marking criteriaTask description and marking criteria Title: Critical analysis Type: Assignment – written assignment Weight: 30% Marked out of: 30 Word limit: 1200 words Task description The purpose of this essay is to demonstrate critical thinking, analysis, research, referencing and writing skills.
