In this assignment, you will read twenty crime reports. These crime reports provide a real-world example of the work Crime Analysts does daily. You will gather data from the crime reports to complete a crime data matrix. This matrix will help you see the crime patterns.
Instructions:
In a Word document, discuss the following:
othe types of programs that work best for different stages of crime analysis.
othe types of data used for crime analysis.
othe quality and usefulness of each type of data.
Create a crime analysis matrix using Microsoft Access, Word, or Excel.
oThe matrix should include at least eight columns, but you may choose to have more if you want to add additional information.
The information should include at a minimum:
Incident number
Date and time of report
Date and time of incident (the to and from date/time range) Location (address)
Location type (residence, business type, etc.)
Incident type (Robbery, Burglary, Car Break, Car theft, etc.) Suspect information (name and description if provided)
Additional information from the narrative in the report (i.e. entry and exit from building if applicable, target items, etc.). This should be in a comments section of your file and be brief but informative. (Example: Suspect broke into house using cellar window, ate food from Refrigerator, took pillowcase to remove items.)
Analyze the crime reports. Fill in the matrix with information from each of the 20 crime reports.
o The matrix should have information that you want to easily access in later assignments so take your time when reading your crime reports.

oMinimum three pages in length, excluding the Title and Reference page. o APA format, including an in-text citation for referenced works.
o At least two resources.
Submit a Microsoft Access, Excel, or Word file for the matrix.
Be sure to read the criteria by which your work will be evaluated before you write and again after you write.
