Your final project will propose a new amendment to the U. S. Constitution. It will have 2 components: the proposed amendment and an attendant paper that will, in several paragraphs explain the amendment, why it is needed, how it is constitutional, and what chance you think it would have to actually be ratified were it presented to Congress based on that.
The amendment MUST be constitutional; in other words, it cannot infringe on anyone’s natural rights as they have been defined by the Constitution. It must not be a repeat of an amendment already in force. It CAN, however, repeal or replace an amendment provided you can show that the amendment being repealed or replaced is somehow unconstitutional. The amendment can have a singular focus, but most amendments are multi-part, so familiarize yourselves with the others to get an idea of structure. You will also need to decide if you are going to flesh out all the details or leave some open to interpretation
