Read “It Had to Be Murder” and watch the film “Rear Window” (1954), then create your own question comparing the main characters, themes, techniques, etc. Find an element that the success of the adaptation hinges upon, and use that as a means to analyze the source and film. You will write down the question you’ve created at the top of your essay so I know what you’re responding to. The essay should be at least two pages and use at least two quotes from the short story. (Quotes from the film are optional.)
