The first example that I come across in life is when looking for an apartment or taking about the size of a house it is often referred to as square feet or square meter dependent on where you live globally. This could be expressed as an exponent.
The second way exponents are used in some people (not me) everyday life is measuring data in chemistry. The Laboratory uses exponent when providing lab data like when you take a chemistry course in college or high school. Where any number with more than 2 digits becomes an exponent.
