Task: You are required to write a Summary/Reflective essay that summarizes the main characteristics of early of first generation feminists arts in the United States. I would like you to choose one work from two different first generation feminist artists as your main examples (2 art works total). (Appropriate artists include; Ono, Kubota, Schneemann, Edelson, Mendieta and Sleigh.) Your essay should include a thorough discussion of essentialism in relation this artistic movement. Your essay should have an introduction that summarizes the socio-historical context women faced at the time and leads to a thesis that clearly articulates the movements main goals. The body of your essay should thoroughly analyze your chosen examples and relate them to the overall goals of the movement. Your conclusion should summarize the main points of your essay and include a thoughtful reflection on your informed views of the impact of the movement, including its successes as well as shortcomings.
Also remember to reflect to the reading and cite them.
