Brief Summary of Job Duties
Under the general supervision of the Director of Transfer Student Center and the Director of Academic Success Initiatives, the Programs Assistant assists in the administration of the Transfer Student Center. Assists in the coordination of Transfer Student Center programs, workshops, and activities, including the development of new projects and programs. Corresponds with campus partners (ie: EOP, EP, CLAS, Summer Sessions) and students who utilize Center services; assists in managing student questions and concerns; and contributes to the welcoming and supportive culture of the Center.
Minimum Requirements
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Attention to detail
-Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects under the pressure of tight timelines.
-Able to work independently and as a member of a team
-Knowledge of google suite: email, calendar, forms and sheets
-Ability to work with frequent interruptions
-Ability to respond and have frequent communication, in person and virtually, with Center stakeholders: Students, parents, administrators,
prospective students etc.

Job Functions/Percentage of Time/Duties
60% Program Administration and Center Operations
Provides administrative assistance to the Center Director and Director of Academic Success Initiatives. Assists in the coordination of Transfer Student Center programs, workshops, and activities, including the development of new projects and programs. Corresponds with campus partners (ie: EOP, EP, CLAS, Summer Sessions) and students who utilize Center services; assists in managing student questions and concerns; and contributes to the welcoming and supportive culture of the Center. Helps to coordinate
Centers activities with other academic success initiatives within the College of Letters and Science. Responsible for frequently assisting in Center workshop facilitation,
registration, and in operations of the day of events. Develops and distributes communications to campus community via email and social media, to promote Center programs and to keep different campus constituencies apprised of Center activities. Helps to coordinate assessment of the Center by collecting and coordinating data and data analysis. Provides clerical assistance to the Center Director regarding the development and delivery of presentations to campus partners. Conducts outreach efforts to students in writing, verbally, and via social media. Responsible for assisting in general Center operations including, keeping inventory of office supplies and marketing materials needed, making Center Director aware reorder needed and keeping Center tidy and up-to-date. Provides general tech support to Centers (includes troubleshooting computers, iPads, and printer malfunctions and software updates).
30% Social Media and Marketing
Responsible for updating and facilitating with student staff the Transfer Student Center’s Facebook, Instagram, Linktree, GauchoSpace, and YouTube,relaying important Center information to students, advertising Center programs and activities, and posting relevant resources for students. Assists in updating information on Center websites using Drupal content management system. Assists in production and distribution of online and print marketing materials, including TSC newsletter. Develops and organizes content using email marketing software; tracks and updates email databases, both students and campus partners.
10% Student Staff Hiring & Training
Assists in the hiring, intensive training, and continuous training of student staff (including planning, developing, and scheduling of training). Prepares presentations and
training materials. Mentors student staff on the development of new ideas and programs
