Grief is an unfortunate part of life that no one can avoid. However, we all go through this process at different times throughout our lifespan and in different ways. While grief is painful, it can also be an opportunity for growth. Understanding and being able to recognize the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual effects of grief is important when helping one cope with grief in the counseling setting.
