You will write a separate memo for each of the following scenarios:
The hard drive in your computer is full of valuable files and data. Write a memo to Thomas Smith, your supervisor, requesting that your hard drive be replaced by one with greater capacity (or that a second hard drive be added to your system). Make as strong a case as you can: e.g. greater productivity, better programs, etc.
Your child is competing in the provincial finals of a music competition (any instrument/type of music) on the first Friday of next month. Write a memo to your supervisor, Diana Wallison, requesting permission to take time off to attend the event with your child. (You’ll only need one day off.) Ask for a leave of absence (with pay) but offer to take a vacation day if necessary.
