    1. Describe the inclusion/exclusion criteria used to fine-tune the evidence-based research for your selected PICO question using the table below.  See the example below:

  • Discuss the databases searched and the process used to gather the evidence-based research for your selected PICO question.
  • Full points for the main issues section of the rubric will be given for including:
    • Database Searched
      List each database used (e.g., PubMed, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library).
    • Search Terms / Keywords
      Include specific keywords or subject headings used for your search.
    • Boolean Operators Used
      Note how you combined terms (e.g., AND, OR, NOT).
    • Limits / Filters Applied
      Describe any filters (e.g., date range, language, human subjects, age group).
    • Number of Results Found
      Report how many articles were retrieved in each search.

Submission Instructions:

  • Your initial post, question 2, should be at least 250 words, formatted and cited in the current APA style.
  • Provide support for your work from at least five academic sources less than 5 years old. Visit Purdue OwlLinks to an external site.for specific examples on how to create in-text citations and cite references using the current APA format.
  • Students will use this PICO question when creating the abstract and academic poster.
  • Students may not duplicate the PICO question of another student at St. Thomas University.
  • Your initial post is worth 8 points.
  • You should respond to at least two of your peers by extending, refuting/correcting, or adding additional nuance to their posts. Your reply posts are worth 2 points. (1 point per response)
  • All replies must be constructive and use literature where possible.
  • Please post your initial response by 11:59 PM ET Thursday, and comment on the posts of two classmates by 11:59 PM ET Sunday.
  • You can expect feedback from the instructor within 48 to 72 hours from the Sunday due date.
