Develop an outline for this informative speech. Make sure to include an introduction, thesis statement, at least three supporting points, and a conclusion. Once you have your outline, begin to flesh out your speech so that you will be comfortable in your delivery. Practice in front of a mirror or video record your speech to have a sense of your speaking style and appearance. As you watch your delivery, ask yourself:
Is the content clear and effective?
Are your main ideas clearly phrased?
Do you support those ideas with relevant evidence?
Is your vocabulary appropriate and effective?
Try to be aware of how your delivery emphasizes the key points and evidence that you want your audience to recognize. Is your tone appropriate for your content? Are your pauses deliberate and appropriate rather than gaps in your presentation? Don’t be afraid to repeat the process until you have perfected your presentation.
