Instructions:
This assessment requires you to choose a counselling approach from the first four weeks of this unit. Choose one you are unfamiliar with and/or ‘disinclined’ towards.
Research relevant literature and organise an activity-based presentation (a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 12 minutes of video length) that will be recorded and presented to the class.
This activity needs to ‘bring the theory or therapy to life’, so it enhances your classmates’ understanding of the unit. The presentation could include experiential exercises, role play and demonstrations to illustrate your chosen therapy to the rest of the class. Be creative, (for instance, if you were demonstrating animal assisted therapy, you might bring in your pet and ask the viewers to do the same and then take them through a mindfulness exercise while grooming the animal.)
