It’s time to do your own abbreviated research study. Using the attached analysis matrix template, ask at least 15 people from your organization (preferably coworkers, but can also include other peers) to identify the 5 most important elements in their job, as well as 5 less important elements. Explain to them that the rankings don’t indicate that any of the elements are NOT important, but that some are more important than others. You may use the following instructions to explain what you need for your research:
I am completing a small research project for one of my assignments. Please review the following list of 10 elements of a job. Put an X in the first column by the five elements that are the MOST IMPORTANT to you. Then, put an X in the second column by the five elements that are NOT AS IMPORTANT as those marked in the first column. This does not mean those in the second column are not important; it just means those in the first column are MORE important.
Use the following matrix template to collect your data:

Next, analyze your results by doing the following:
Tabulate the number of each element that received an X as MOST Important.
Tabulate the number of each element that received an X as NOT AS Important.
Based on what you have learned, prepare a proposal for leaders that includes the following:
Suggestions for retaining the organization’s most talented employees;
Preface your research findings with reasons why retaining talent is important to the industry and your organization;
Support your arguments using the materials found in this week’s readings;
The findings of your research exercise, highlighting the elements that have been found to be the most valuable to those employees that were included in your study;
A summary of your proposed suggestions.
Note: Any and all findings from your small study will be read only by the instructor and will be kept strictly confidential. These steps are being performed as an exercise that you may use in your future work as a leader.
Assignment Requirements:
