I’m honestly not certain if I am required to schedule this meeting with the faculty member, if it is scheduled automatically through an email, or how it should be accomplished. It is exciting, however, to discuss my progress through the project and possibly throughout this entire academic journey. I think I would like more than anything to find out information about what happens from this moment on. Soon we will be graduates once again and learning more about future opportunities that can come from this experience would be a nice way to wrap things up.
I think if I had to sum it up into three questions I would like answered, they would be: How do I know I am on the right track with this course? What can I expect from this overall experience? And where do I look for future opportunities to continue growing?
I can’t believe we are already more than halfway done with this course and in about two months from now, I will have my degree in hand and can finally close this chapter of my life. I have personally grown a lot from this overall experience and I am ready to move forward. I hope this will help me to continue progressing in my career, provide more options for life outside of the military when I am ready to leave, and help my family see that they can accomplish anything with hard work and dedication. As I’ve said previously, I am the only one in my family to achieve this level of a degree and I’m one of three family members that have a degree at all. I have nearly 100 cousins, so this is a huge accomplishment for me to break through these barriers that were given to me through my environment. I look forward to the conversation with the faculty and gaining everything I can through this experience.
