In this assignment you will reflect on what health means to you, determinants of health that have impacted your health during the pandemic (COVID-19), and the strategies/resources you have used to stay healthy during this difficult time.
1. Your interpretation of health
Refer to at least one of the definitions discussed in the lecture or course readings to explain your interpretation / understanding of the term health.
2. Determinants that have influenced your health during the pandemic (COVID-19) (minimum of 2). Students may wish to focus on how the Omicron variant has impacted their health
Identify a minimum of 2 specific determinants of health (refer to Values & Health lecture notes/readings) AND explain how each has positively and/or negatively impacted your health.
3. Strategies/resources you have used to stay healthy during this time
When addressing #2 and #3, you can include details about your past and/or present experiences, age, sexuality, personal viewpoint, cultural and/or spiritual beliefs, traditions, activities etc.
Your paper
Must be written in essay format using Microsoft Word and APA 7th edition
Must be typed using Times New Roman 12 font and double-spaced
Should include headings for each of the three discussion points
Must adhere to the word limit – NO more than 750 words maximum (this does not include the title or reference pages of the assignment)
Must include scholarly sources that are cited in the body of the paper & the Reference page
Use a minimum of 2 different sources
1) Use a definition from the course lecture and/or readings to discuss your interpretation of health AND
2) Use at least one other source to address the determinants that have influenced your health and/or those strategies/resources you have used to stay healthy.
Scholarly sources can be from your course text, a peer-reviewed article, or professional and/or reputable websites.
