As a 30 year old man suffering from Hypopituitarism which is an abnormal decrese in the activity of the pituitary gland. I have the most severe decrease of growth hormone which has caused dwarfism. The hardest symptoms growing up was seeing the difference in height and development compared to everyone else. Now I would say it is decreased libido and the loss of facial and body hair, this has made it hard to keep a relationship and going bald at 25 years old was very depressing and harmful for my image considering I have other body image issues to deal with. The current treatment I am on is hormone replacement of testosterone which is the hormone I am deprived of. I have been under constant monitoring and adjusting of hormone which has taken a toll on my whole body. The side effects that I have been experiencing from this treatment is mood swings, irritablity and depression. This is on going and it is very frustrating to deal with even though after so long I am seeing results but it is very hard for me to deal with on a daily basis. My questions for the doctor are more personal such as would seeing a psychologist help? What else should I do to try and make my symptoms better? Is it ever going to get better? Are there any other treatments or clinical trials? My advice for a patient who has been recently diagnosed with this is that be patient and stick to the treatment and just take it day by day your body is going through a lot and unfortunetely there are no known preventions or cures. This condition really has taken a lot of me emotionally I would love to be married and be happy and have a good life but I am in a constant battle with myself and this condition, I hope that by getting professional help I am able to learn how to cope with it and hopefully start building my life. I just take it day by day but it is exhausting.
