Additionally, this topic will look at the importance of quality and safety in caring for clients.

Objectives:

1. Identify the body’s response to stressors, inflammatory processes, and acute and chronic diseases.
2. Apply the assessment component of the nursing process in the nurse’s role and responsibilities for reduction of risk potential and client safety and infection control.
3. Exercise critical thinking to ensure a safe client environment.
4. Utilize evidence-based infection control practices that prevent transmission of organisms to self and others.
