This assignment is based on the real-world business that you have for assignment 1. Indeed, this assignment builds upon initial solution proposed in Assignment 1 to develop a comprehensive project plan that includes time management, project documentation, stakeholder management, risk management and resource management plan. The assignment focuses on integrating theoretical project management principles with practical applications to ensure all project deliverables meet predetermined standards.
Assignment Task:
Objective:
- Develop a comprehensive project management plan for conducting a feasibility study to determine the optimal site for Al Ghurair’s new development. You will use the project management tools and techniques discussed in class.
- For this assignment, you are required to produce an individual report detailing the comprehensive project delivery process. This report should cover all critical aspects of project management as mentioned below, followed by a reflective report discussing the lessons learned throughout the project.
Project Parameters:
- Time Frame: The project should span 6 months, with a flexibility of plus or minus 3 weeks.
- Budget: The budget for the project is £3,000, with a tolerance of plus or minus £500.
- Templates: Use only the provided templates in the Project Templates toolkit folder on BREO for your report. Do not use other templates.
Report Requirements:
1. Project Management Report (3000 words):
- Introduction
- Business case (Use the template from BREO)
- Scope statement (Use the template from BREO)
- Stakeholder analysis
- Time management (Work Breakdown Structure; Activity List; Gantt Chart; Network Diagram and Critical Path Analysis) (screenshot from MS Project software)
- Resource management including Resource Allocation and Acquisition: Assign each activity to specific project team members, detailing their roles and responsibilities, Discuss the strategy for resource allocation and acquisition, and Include details on resource loading and leveling to ensure efficient use of resources.
2. Reflective Report (500 words):
- Objective: Reflect on the entire project process, using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle as a framework. This reflection should focus on personal learning and development throughout the project.
- Stages of the Gibbs Cycle:
- Description: What happened during the project?
- Feelings: What were you thinking and feeling?
- Evaluation: What was good and bad about the experience?
- Analysis: What sense can you make of the situation?
- Conclusion: What else could you have done?
- Action Plan: If it arose again, what would you do?
- Lessons Learned: Conclude with the key lessons learned and how they will influence your future project management practices.
