Grant Proposal: Part I
Many essential components are part of a grant proposal. Each component provides funders with information about your organization, community needs, and the program(s) that you are proposing to get funded that will address the social problems and issues impacting different communities and populations.
Generally, nonprofit human services organizations submit grant proposals in response to either a request for proposals (RFP) or a request for applications (RFA) issued by a foundation, corporate, or government entity. Throughout the course, your assignments will respond to the RFP criteria of THE Foundation, which states its funding priorities and the types of nonprofit organizations it funds.
Assignment Directions
If you have not done so already, choose an existing nonprofit human services organization that meets THE Foundation funding criteria- COMMUNITY ACTION OF SOUTHEAST IOWA. This organization will be the one you use throughout all subsequent assignment submissions. The organization you choose can be located anywhere in the United States and must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Be sure that the organization that you choose has a comprehensive website.
For this assignment, you will draft the organization description and social problem sections of your grant proposal and include all of the following:
Describe the organization you selected. Include its background, history, mission, and demonstrated effectiveness (maximum of 2 pages).
