Instructions:
• After viewing Getting Acquainted Resources take a look at the various possible chapter assignments at the end of the chapter which are organized as Learning Outcome questions, Critical Thinking questions, and Activity worksheets.
• My professor has chosen one assignment for you, and you are to choose another assignment that covers a different topic that interests you, so you will be doing two assignments per chapter.
• If you use your book, make sure to include the relevant page number(s) OR sections from your textbook or etext.
• You must answer responses in your own words. Responses must be original.
• Each answer should be able to be read as a complete essay. Restate the question, make it clear what you are answering.
• Do not just copy what is in the textbook- but rather put it in your own words and make it clear that you have thought about the content.
• Any plagiarized work will not be accepted. You must not Google or copy content directly from text or course website.
Assignment 1: Getting Acquainted with Ourselves and Others Assignments
1. My professor’s assignment choice for you is Learning Outcomes Question #19. (13th edition – page 48 or 14th edition – page 58)
o You are to write at least three paragraphs to answer the question.
o Be sure to use information from your book and information from the Brene Brown Ted Talk.
o You are to apply the information to your real-life examples. The best approach is to integrate the academic material and application examples.

2. Your assignment choice can be a chapter 1 Learning Outcome question, a Critical Thinking question, or an Activity worksheet.
o Note that each activity is printed on two or more pages in the book.
o You are to write at least three paragraphs to answer the question.
o Be sure to address your chosen topic thoroughly with textbook information and weave in life experiences.
