Overview
Upon completion of this module’s assigned Learn material, you should be able to successfully describe the steps to planning a physical activity program, assess the steps to evaluating a physical activity program, and develop a community-based physical activity program. This module’s assignment is to complete the Physical Activity Plan that you began earlier in this course. The focus is now on the strategies and tactics that you want to implement in the five societal sectors you chose. Instructions
You will be required to finish the Physical Activity Plan (PAP) that you began earlier in this course. For each sector you chose you will need to identify at least three strategies to promote physical activity. One example of a strategy for the Education sector would be: “Schools should provide high-quality physical education programs” (National Physical Activity Plan, 2016).
In addition, for each strategy you will need to describe at least three tactics that support your strategy. For example, one tactic for the strategy mentioned above would be: “Ensure that students are engaged in moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity for at least 50% of physical education class time” (National Physical Activity Plan, 2016). For more examples of strategies and tactics within each sector, please refer to the National Physical Activity Plan (physicalactivityplan.org à “The Plan” tab à “Download the Plan”).
Altogether you will have a total of 15 strategies (three for each sector) and a total of 45 tactics (three for each strategy). Your completed Physical Activity Plan must be at least 20 pages and needs to look professional. Refer to the textbook and any other scholarly references to help complete your Physical Activity Plan. All references must be in current APA format. You will submit a completed Physical Activity Plan for your chosen community as one document via the submission link.
