Brian and Kathleen opened up tonight’s session by giving a quick overview of the next few sessions and assignments and Kathleen introduced herself to the group.
The group filled out the mid-evaluation form.
Kathleen asked the group to think of one or two services that provide support specifically around addiction and what services they provide for their assignment. We then went through Day and Residential services and what these provide. We broke the group into smaller groups to discuss the different types of addiction agencies people might want to go to.
The substance- research material on the substance, where it came from, and what it is opioid? etc, the effects, all your learning from the course please use.
How a Community is affected by the substance, increase in crime rate, early school leavers, intimidation, anti-social behaviour, poverty etc. Research this and use your research to back up what you are writing.
The response of the Community. Local agencies, and programmes developed because of this, Concerned Parents groups, Youth reach centres, Drug Task force set up etc.
