Using Filipino culture and Nigerian culture, examine socio-cultural expectations of emerging adults in these collectivist cultures versus the expectations in canadian/western individualist cultures. Also review literature on Jeffrey Arnett’s 5 features of emerging adulthood, Bowen’s Family Systems Theory on individuation, Bio-psychosocial development, Daniel Levinson’s lifespan development theory and theological views on the family including Balswick and Balswick (2014).
