Submission Due by 11:55 pm AEST/AEDT Sunday end of Module 2.2 – Week 4 Weighting 25% Total Marks 100 marks Assessment Task You will prepare a 5-minute presentation, which will demonstrate your findings after you examine the given case study and identify changes that will impact the delivery of project value. You should critically evaluate the impact of the identified changes on project processes and development approach/life cycle. Consider and propose a project change approach to deliver the envisioned future state, including your preferred change model, integrated change control, and strategies that will engage and support the stakeholders, resulting in the sustainment of the change. Please refer to the Instructions for details on how to complete this task. Context A project is designed to deliver value and benefits to the organisation and stakeholders. The selected development approach and processes may be tailored to ensure value and benefits delivery. The delivery of the project is based on more than the identified project outcomes and will be impacted by the people and organisational culture in which the outcomes will be delivered. The way the deliverables are accepted within the client organisation is dependent on the readiness of stakeholders to receive and accept change. Thus, change management is a key consideration when managing and delivering project outcomes, so that the change is enabled to deliver the envisioned future state (PMI, 2021). Changes resulting from the project should enable benefits realisation. Changes need to be assessed and identified, and the people impacted by the changes need to be prepared, engaged, and understand the need and benefits of the change. Change Management goes beyond Integrated Change Control. Change Management looks at the people and processes and how the organisation moves from the current state to the envisioned future state that becomes possible with successful project completion. As a future Project Manager, you will often be called upon to review and assess your project, the associated process and lifecycle, and determine the impacts of the project on the stakeholders, as well as the impacts of the stakeholders on the project. You will engage others in your evaluation to propose and agree solutions, which will incorporate a Change Management approach. This assessment allows you to demonstrate your understanding of the importance and application of Project Change Management and Integrated Change Control, by selecting and discussing a Change Model that you will recommend as the basis for the transition of people and processes to the newly envisioned state, brought about by the project deliverables. You will also demonstrate your analysis of project process groups and processes, along with the appropriate development approach/lifecycle, that support the delivery of project value to the stakeholders. By engaging in a discussion with other class members, you will consider your recommendations against the context of the recommendations made by others, presenting supporting evidence and discussing the recommended approaches in order to contribute to your “toolkit” of Project and Change Management knowledge and application. This assessment will require you to consider the project in our case study and use a presentation format, to engage with other students in this class to present the outcomes of your analysis. ? You will apply your analysis skills to determine the future state that is envisioned by this project and use your critical thinking skills to propose change management approaches to ensure the future state. ? You will consider the development approach (project lifecycle) and processes within the case study and present your assessment and recommendations for the ongoing project delivery approach. ? You will consider the impact on stakeholders and existing processes so that changes resulting from the project will deliver values and benefits. You will also consider the impacts of stakeholders on processes and development approach. ? You will engage in discussion with other students in your class and arrive at a decision after considering opinions and options offered by other team members. Your ability to provide timely, effective, and constructive contributions to the discussion will ensure that solutions will be found. Reference: Project Management Institute. (2021).
