Application of Instruction

  1. What is the goal of education?
The success of education is not to be measured by the degree to which students become a ‘photocopy’ in attitude and beliefs of the external teacher, be it the mother or father of a family, or the class teacher. The goal is clearly an unfinished project, since each one is on a journey of ongoing discovery and on a path to maturity which involves the uniqueness of each individual and their ongoing dialogue with the Interior Teacher. In this sense education never finishes, and makes the world a great classroom in which all human beings are partners on the way together (Berdon, 2001).
  2. Explain the process of learning?
Children go through a process of learning that begins with experiences that are created through the brain. The brain is an organ of learning, and learning is biological. “Our brains begin to mature even before we are born. Although out most our lives, brain do not mature at the same rate in each individual” (Clikeman, 2014).
  3. What is the role of the teacher?
As educators, we are responsible for teaching all students that are in our classroom. However, we will have a diverse of learner in our classroom, and we must be experienced in teaching all students even though their learning styles may vary. Thus, we must be knowledge in teaching differentiated instruction so that all students’ needs are being met. However, “Many educators believe that students have different learning styles-inverse ways of learning, comprehending, and using information” (Sadker, David, M. Ziflleman, Karen. Pg. 32).
  4. What is your view of the learner?
Learning is a basic skill where content and knowledge is learned through different methods. Learners gain knowledge through learning which can be a lifelong process. As learners grow and develop and began to integrate scholarly evidence into their practice they become scholars.
    In conclusion
As a Christian educator, I will play a major role in many students’ lives. It will be my goal to make sure the student learns the essential tools to be productive in life. “Proper philosophical understanding can allow an educator to distinguish ideas that could lead students to false conclusions from those that will give them access to a life of truth and fulfillment” (Brayley, Layman, White, 2003, p.6). Students will learn what is expected of them in my classroom. They will also know what is expected of them in the world we live in. They must also come to the understanding what is wrong or right. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15, NIV).
