Hello, Welcome to Chapter 11 Discussion Board. This week discussion topic: What Is Your Perceived Stress Level. Your answer to the discussion question should be in paragraph format. The Perceived Stress Scale is a widely used psychological instrument for measuring the perception of stress. It measures the degree to which situations in one’s life are appraised as stressful. The questions in the PSS ask about feelings and thoughts during the last month. In each case, respondents are asked how often they felt a certain way.
- For this discussion board you have to complete the Perceived Stress Scale.
- To access the scale, go to page 365 in your e-book (textbook). Please follow the instructions in your book. It also gives instructions on how to score it.
- After completing the scale answer the following questions:
- Do you agree with the results. Why or Why Not? Be specific.
- If you scored high, would you be willing to learn some strategies on how to reduce your stress?
- If so, your textbook list some strategies; exercise, relaxation, meditation and active spiritual engagement. Which ones are you willing to try? Indicate why you would try these strategies.
- If you scored moderate, you are closed to becoming stress, are you willing to try the strategies I listed above to lower your stress level? If so, which ones.
- If you scored low, you most likely have some strategies in place, please share what you do to keep your stress level low
