Using the result from the previous information you are going to determine the water quality of the Rouge River in the region near the Hines Dr. Outer and Dr. intersection area in Dearborn Heights.
From the first Rouge River lab, these are the hypotheses that had found.
Hypothesis 1.
The water quality of the Rogue River at the Helms Haven Park area is good.
So, for this lab, you are trying to test your hypothesis (given above) with the data provided.
To find which macroinvertebrates indicate good water quality which indicates polluted water you can use the list given below.
Group 1 – pollution sensitive (require higher DO, neutral pH, cold water) E x. mayflies, stoneflies, caddisflies
Group 2 – somewhat pollution tolerant Ex. scuds, dragonflies, damselflies, clams, beetles, isopods.
Group 3 – pollution tolerant (can tolerate low oxygen, lower/higher pH, warmer water) Ex. aquatic worms, midge larva.
With the data I gave from a previous study you are going to create 2 different tables:

List all the organisms from the previous study to the appropriate columns.
Then you count the number of macroinvertebrates from each site and determine the 2 hypotheses are supported or not supported. You can add all the individuals from each type from each site and record a total number for each table.
Then you write unique 500 words for each hypothesis, (Use the map Rouge River Spring Macroinvertebrate Monitoring) and tell how you arrived at the 2 hypotheses and is the 2 hypotheses are supported by the data or not.
