Lean business start-up: Business investment proposal
1. Introduction
In this proposal, the business venture of a Brazil Swimming Club (BSC) for the
Brazilian community in Sydney will be discussed. It is a sustainable business that is looking
for stability in the market to maintain long-term operations. It has been observed that in the
past few years, people have turned significantly toward recreational activities. Aquatic
activities have increased at an exponential rate over the decade, making swimming one of the
top recreational activities. The company aims to provide leisure activities, recreational
activities, awareness about open waters, and aquatic sports for the Brazilian community to
provide a full-body workout for the betterment of their health.
2. Investment options
For maintaining a successful operational structure for the BSC, a proper assessment of
the investment options has to be done. These options will determine how the business allocates
its investments according to the business’s needs.
2.1. Stocks
The business venture has plans to introduce its stocks to the share market, as the pool
stocks are not exactly cheap in today’s competitive market. With the introduction of its stocks
in the share market, the company aims to encourage people to buy their stocks by providing
special offers. The goal is to encourage the members to become shareholders of the company
for maintaining a sense of ownership as a stakeholder of the business. The shareholders would
be given special facilities like discounts on memberships, extra leisure time, and private pool
access (Siegel, 2021). These offers would likely attract more members of the community to

take part in these recreational activities and increase the number of shareholders of the
company.
2.2. Crowd funding
The BSC also aims to raise funds from the community by organizing awareness camps
about the positive effects of swimming and collecting money via the internet. With crowd
funding, the BSC does not just aim to raise capital. The goal is to diversify the funding streams
by organizing a neat campaign and driving a proper engagement of their members and the
Brazilian community (Yu
et al., 2017). Though only crowd fund would not cover a significant
amount of capital for the business it would still help to create awareness among the Brazilian
community. For conducting a successful crowd funding program the venture needs to come up
with an exciting way for interacting with the crowd, like launching an event and urging people
to visit their website and support the community swimming club.
2.3. Joint ventures
The business also aims to partner up with local businesses that deal in aquatic
sportswear and institutions that provide coaching for swimming. With these joint ventures, the
BSC also aims to provide an inside-the-club purchasing facility to the members, and the
partnering firms would be provided with a space where the companies can sell their products.
The potential profit from these partnerships depends on a number of factors, the one factor that
will affect the business the most still remains the number of people that have been registered
as members (Leonard, Pakpahan, Heriyati & Handayani, 2020). For ensuring the success of the
business venture, a majority of the Brazilian community have to be made aware of the Brazil
Swimming Club.

4. Convincing argument
Society has become very health conscious nowadays and therefore the people are using
the swimming process as not only a recreation system but also as a health-related exercise.
Therefore, the policy of BSC is to engage the people of the society with the swimming system
and the process is very important for the younger generation. Therefore, the convincing
argument of the club is to maintain the health of the Brazilian people who reside in Australia
and are health conscious. Although the club only allows Brazilian people, this club can be
considered a system where people can upgrade their health through the various techniques of
swimming. Sydney is a place where people from many ethnicities live and thus the club has a
number of members who want to maintain this particular exercise in order to maintain
recreation and physical activities together (Long, 2017).
This can be deciphered from the process that BSC has influenced the people of the small
Brazilian society who lives in Sydney in order to exchange the cultural aspects that are
commonly seen in the Brazilian people only. Also, the national language of Brazil, Portuguese,
can be used as a form of communication in the club and that will add more value to BSC in
society (Ordonhes
et al., 2021).
