Consider the varied ways that the phenomenon and fandom of K-pop get discussed in the collection of videos below:
https://video-alexanderstreet-com.proxy.emerson.edu/watch/how-we-imagine-ourselves-k-pop-fandom-and-identity
After viewing the above videos and thinking about them collectively (thinking about patterns or divergences across these videos), develop an essay that aims to apply our critical and theoretical approaches to audiences, reception, fandom, and participatory culture to these complex, varied approaches to K-pop and its global audiences.
Specifically, you should draw from at least two (2) of your Week 3 readings (Hall, Staiger, Jenkins, Pande) in crafting your critical analysis, though all might be useful in different ways depending upon your approach and the goals of your thesis.
Keep in mind that you are not only applying these critical/theoretical models and methods to the study of K-pop and its fans, but even more specifically to the above videos as media texts themselves (texts that try, in their own ways, to discuss, dissect, make meaning out of, and inform an audience about K-pop and its fandom).
