Assignment 3: Folio Task.
Topic: Finding Employment
TASK:
· Create 3 marketing tools that will assist you to potentially gain employment- a 1-page Resume, a LinkedIn profile and a 60-90 second promotional video.
PROCESS:
1. Go to https://ccc.careereducation.sa.edu.au/ and create a student user profile, if you do not have one.
2. Once logged on navigate to the menu and select Learn About myself. Complete the following:
· Career Personality Quiz– identify your personality traits and your type. You will generate a report highlighting your personality type’s traits, strengths, weaknesses, characteristics and possible careers. Print your results
· My Interests- This questionnaire will help you to think about the types of things that interest you (in a work related sense) and it will then show you the job area or areas that you are most suited to, based on these interests. Print your results.
· My Skills– a personal audit of skills employers are seeking. Print your results.
· Then go to the tab Enterprise skills– links to SACE capabilities and complete the Enterprise skills audit
Print the reports- it will give you some suggestions for actions you could take to improve your skills.
3. Using the information from that and other knowledge create a 1-page Resume (template provided)- include a hyperlink to your LinkedIn profile and video.
4. Modify resume content to create a suitable LinkedIn professional profile.
5. Using a video editing program, create a 90 second marketing video to promote yourself.
Some good online tools include: smilebox.com, spark.adobe, animaker.com and renderforest.com. But you may have a personal preference. Just ensure you can save your video for easy viewing.
Draft video will be shared with class for feedback a week before final version is submitted.
6. Reflect on the process used to create your profiles, what you have learnt, challenges faced and value of the task.
