Choose two mental health disorders and include:
- Description of disorders and prevalence in the United States
- Diagnosis/prevention (if applicable)/history of this diagnosis
- Traditional treatment and healthcare responsibilities. Discuss and describe the availabilityof community mental health resources and mental health nurses. What models and concepts align with the needs of this vulnerability in the community?
- Cultural influences (may include genetics). Does the manner in which people of different cultures describe emotional distress affect the detection and treatment of mental illness?
- Reflection Section:How will you as the nurse provide patient centered care to patients with your chosen health disorders? How did this learning activity change your perspective toward your patients with mental illness? How can you tie your research to the Healthy People 2030 objectives for mental health needs?
- Informational Slide:How do we break the stigma on mental illness? Create action plans for your two chosen illnesses
Prepare your answers in APA format citing references. Use at least two scholarly references that are 5 years old or newer. Please use color/design/visual aids to enhance your presentation.
