Differentiation in Schools

explaining (and citing) the importance of differentiated instruction
How differentiation can increase learning for all students (including subgroups):
Students with Disabilities (SWD)
English Language Learners (ELL)
Gifted Learners
Students living in Poverty
Identify and detail your current strengths and weaknesses with teaching differentiated lessons, according to the
student(s):
Readiness
Interest
Learning Profile
Expound on how you would deal with your weaknesses by identifying three researched-based practices (i.e.,
strategies, techniques, technologies, models, etc.) you would utilize to increase your weaknesses with
differentiating lessons based on students’ readiness, interest and learning profile and expound on those practices
accordingly.
For example: Provide one researched based practice you would utilize to increase your weakness in each of the
following categories (one practice for each category totaling three practices):
Readiness for all students (be sure to include how the researched-based practice will assist for each subgroup)
Interest for all students (be sure to include how the researched-based practice will assist for each subgroup)
Learning profile for all students (be sure to include how the researched-based practice will assist for each
subgroup)
You are seeking literature that demonstrates the effectiveness of your selected practice(s) with empirical
evidence stating why your three selected practices are effective for increasing your ability to teach all students
including each subgroup (i.e., SWD, ELL, Gifted, and students living in poverty).
