He believed that art served three crucial tasks in our life (the three E’s):
Exaltation; Edification (education); Entertainment (lifting of the human spirit)
There must be logical and well-developed ideas that are supported by specific examples from the production.
Determine the aesthetic worth of the work based on the successful use of theatrical elements.
There must be a variety of terminology, with emphasis on the theatrical vocabulary addressed in your book.
Correct theatrical language must be utilized.
When in doubt, use your text’s glossary.

Each element should be worth a paragraph of discussion/description.
