Overview
It’s crucial to include the appropriate parties in the planning, creation, and assessment of programs for people with substance use disorders (SUD). Stakeholders may encourage the program’s sustainability and support the collection of high-quality data. For instance, in order to get patient data to gauge success towards this objective, programs that seek to show a decline in SUD among the target population or community may need to formalize collaborations with healthcare providers.
Participants in the evaluation of rural SUD treatment and prevention initiatives include the following:
Staff and participants in the program, which may include healthcare professionals, health educators, program participants, coalition partners, and financial backers
Policymakers, healthcare systems and providers, government officials (including public health officials), and others who can use evaluation data to change systems and policies include other decision-makers
authorities in local law enforcement
Governmental and private not-for-profit social welfare organizations
