PROBLEM STATEMENT
- Each year, around 700,000 work days are lost due to injuries caused by the failure of personal protective equipment (PPE). There are different types of PPE available depending on the type of job or the type of hazards.
- PPE offers protection against injury or illness resulting from contact with physical, chemical, radiological, mechanical, and electrical hazards.
- The purpose of this assignment is to give you a hand on applications of knowledge on introduction to safety and health through identifying, analyzing and presenting your ideas about Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
INSTRUCTIONS
- You need prepared a report regarding on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is appropriate for employees.
- The assignment’s structures are as follow:
PART 1: INTRODUCTION
Brief explanation regarding on the company background, vision, mission and so on.
PART 2: CONTENT OUTLINE
- Choose ONE (1) job/position in any industry.
- Identify injuries or illness or hazards or risks (effects of the job in the aspect of safety and health) that may be resulting from that particular job.
- Examples:
- Chemical/splash
- Drowning
- Fall
- Hearing
- Respiratory
- Ergonomic, and etc.
- Identify PPE requirements based on the following parts (if any that apply) for the selected job/position:
- Hand and arm protection
- Body protection
- Ear and face protection
- Foot protection
- Head protection
- Respiratory protection
- Full set clothing
- State how to properly wear or use the PPE.
- Identify proper care or maintenance or storage or disposal of the PPE.
PART 3: CONCLUSION
- Summarization based on your reading and understanding.
- Additionally, you can give suggestions/recommendations of PPE that you think suitable for the job/position that you selected in order for better protection of employees.
