Case study
Mrs. Jones is a lead educator in an early years setting, and she has recently noticed a conflict between two of her team members, Ms. Smith and Ms. Doyle. The conflict has intensified over a few weeks, and this is beginning to affect the children in the setting.
Ms. Smith and Ms. Doyle have different ideas about how the classroom is to be run. Ms. Smith likes to maintain structure over the day with set routines and activities, while Ms. Doyle prefers a more relaxed approach, allowing the children to lead the day’s activities.
The conflict has become more pronounced in recent days, with Ms. Smith and Ms. Doyle openly disagreeing with each other in front of the children. Mrs. Jones is concerned about the impact this conflict is having on the children’s learning and well-being and wants to find a way to resolve the situation.
