Essay due ASAP on Richard III play by Shakespeare. The essay needs to answer the following prompt: Women play increasingly important roles throughout this series, and in R3 there are four important female roles: Lady Anne, Queen Elizabeth, Margaret, and the Duchess of York (Richard’s mother, who first appears in this play). How do these women influence the plot? How important is 4.4, a very long scene in which Elizabeth and the Duchess excoriate Richard on his way to meet the invasion of Henry Tudor? Does Margaret, in some ways a mirror image of Richard, and the only main character to appear in all four plays, deserve to walk away while gloating over the fall of her enemies? I was out sick for a bit and the essay needs to be completed no later than tomorrow evening if at all possible.
