Title: QQI Level 5N2706 Skills Demonstration
In two skills demonstrations, you will be assessed in a broad range of practical skills as described in the specific learning outcomes above. The learner is required to complete 2x skills demonstration tasks:

1x Personal hygiene/care support activity for an older person with cognitive and/or sensory impairment and/or physical disability. Examples may include: dental care / oral hygiene / denture care, dressing, showering, toileting / incontinence care, or hair care.
1x Meaningful/ Therapeutic activity for an older person with mental illness and/or dementia and/ or living with chronic illness.
Each skills demonstration activity should be accompanied by a written submission covering the criteria as listed in the tables on the following pages.

If the learner is undertaking the skills demonstration tasks in a work-based environment with a client, the learners work-place Supervisor will oversee and report on the learners skills. However, each demonstration must be audio recorded as the Forus Training Assessor must be able to validate the activities (Without an audio recording of the demonstrations, your assessment may not be assessed fully). Please also note, that for some learners completing the activities in their workplace, a video demonstration (in lieu of an audio recording) may be completed when the task is completed in a simulated environment – check with your trainer regarding same. If the learner is doing this course by remote learning, please carry out this assessment in a simulated environment with a member of your household or a friend, provide a video recording of the demonstration tasks and submit these as your evidence (along with the written submission per skills task).

For each of the practical skills demonstration tasks, the learner must ensure / keep in mind at all times the following:

Equipment available
The activities chosen should enhance the wellbeing of the client and be suited to their individualised needs.
Skills Demonstration Task 1: Personal hygiene / care support activity for an older person with cognitive and/or sensory impairment and/or physical disability – 30% Instructions:
Select a suitable hygiene/ personal care support activity that is appropriate for an older client with a cognitive and/or sensory impairment and/or physical disability. Examples may include: dental care/ oral hygiene/ denture care, dressing, showering, toileting / incontinence care, or hair care.
Complete your demonstration of this activity (Remote learners – Complete a video demonstration; Learners in the Workplace: Complete the demonstration with a client or in a simulated environment in the workplace (A video or audio video will need to be completed).
