Step 2: Look into quality improvement standards.
Examine websites such as the Joint Commission or the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to acquire information on the initiative’s standard.
Step 3: Put together a 14- to 16-slide presentation.
Create your presentation by addressing the following issues and ensuring that any resources utilized are correctly cited. Include a slide for the title page, introduction, conclusion, and references. Each of the following bullet points should have its own slide in addition to these four:
Explain the importance of the quality improvement initiative.
What evidence was used to assess the need for quality improvement?
Explain what the initiative is attempting to accomplish.
By addressing the initiative, what national standards are met?
Which quality metrics will be used to assess the initiative’s progress? Explain the quality indicators and how they contribute to the initiative.
Describe who gathers the data and how it is compared to other data.
Determine which agencies they report their data to.
Determine nursing’s participation in the initiative.
Describe some of the obstacles your company encounters in attaining its objectives.
Make recommendations on how nursing might help to reduce some of these difficulties.
On the final slide of your presentation, include a reference list.

The National Academy of Medicine defines quality as the extent to which health services for individuals and populations maximize the likelihood of desired health outcomes while remaining consistent with current professional knowledge.
The framework for methodically improving care is known as quality improvement. The goal of quality improvement is to standardize processes and structure in order to eliminate variation, create predictable results, and enhance outcomes for patients, healthcare systems, and businesses. Technology, culture, leadership, and physical capital are examples of structure; knowledge capital (e.g., standard operating procedures) or human capital are examples of process (e.g., education and training).
