Following chapters 19 and 20, it is safe to say that the negative impacts on the environment have been great over the years. They have mostly resulted from labor-intensive, small-scale farming shifting to highly-mechanized, large-scale farming where the latter has led to a lot of people losing their jobs over the years. In this light, there have been a great number of people whose skills are not useful in today’s world as a result of illiteracy or semi-illiteracy. Landing jobs that require more intense skills would mean going through more intense training. This places such people in tricky positions where it becomes difficult to enroll in learning institutions when they focus more on fending for their families. This means that there are a lot of people out there who lose their jobs as a result of technological advancements.
