Overview

For the first assessment component, you are required to create a 1500-word presentation, poster or leaflet to meet learning outcomes 1 and 2.

You will need to focus on a specific career within the health and social care sector, some examples that you may wish to consider are as follows:

  • Nursing
  • Social Work
  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Youth Work
  • Counselling

(Note: this is not an exhaustive list, please seek guidance from one of the module tutors if you are interested in an area of practice that has not been mentioned here)

Your work will need to consider the following points

  • The roles and expectations of your chosen area of practice
  • Potential communication barriers and strategies for overcoming these
  • Relevant legal and professional frameworks applicable to your area of practice
  • The importance of critical thinking and reflective practice
